Bionoia Where life meets thought

Contribute

Bionoia is a public-good research corpus. There are three meaningful ways to contribute — money, time, or knowledge. We deliberately keep them distinct because each has a different texture, a different audience, and different obligations.

$

Capital

Direct financial contribution to research the corpus documents — through partner research-funds, hospital programs, or individual sponsorship of specific topics.

Bionoia does not (yet) collect donations directly — see About for our current stance. Funding flows happen between donor and the research-org listed in each opportunity.

Work

Join a research team, contribute biostatistics or domain expertise, take a postdoc or technical role with one of the contributing institutions. The Opportunities board lists current team-searches with role details and contact information.

Knowledge

Suggest research questions, contribute literature references, or help curate the corpus. Bionoia synthesizes published research — domain experts can flag gaps, contested findings, and missing perspectives directly.

How Bionoia handles contributions today

We are currently in information-board mode: Bionoia surfaces opportunities and educational content. Money and work commitments flow directly between contributors and the research organisations listed in each opportunity. Bionoia does not (yet) collect funds, pledge platforms, or process donor data.

This stance is deliberate. Operating a Danish donation platform requires registration with Indsamlingsnævnet, partnership with an established foundation or association, and ongoing compliance with EU payment regulations. We will only build that infrastructure when there is a clear demand and a real partnership in place. Until then, the information board does the matchmaking, and the parties handle the rest.

If you represent a research-fund

If your foundation funds biomedical research in mucosa, resolution biology, or adjacent areas, and you would consider a referral-partnership with Bionoia, please write to the editor. We are particularly interested in partnering with funds that already have donation infrastructure and tax-approval, where Bionoia can route matched cases to your application processes.

If you are a researcher or clinician

We welcome corrections, additions, and competing perspectives on every article. The corpus is meant to be revised. If you find something incomplete or wrong on a mechanism page, the most useful thing you can do is say so, specifically. We will revise, attribute when appropriate, and track every change in the curation history.
